What makes our courses so special?

Our courses feature our whole community – teachers, parents, students and people living with a disability.

Face-to-face courses are run at Daphne’s house, where our students feel most comfortable. You’ll learn in a hands-on, relaxed and collaborative atmosphere, chatting with other teachers, students and their parents while enjoying homemade treats.

You will:

  • learn practical strategies for teaching students with Autism, ADHD, Vision Impairment and other diverse learning needs
  • learn how to minimise anxiety
  • observe live and recorded lessons
  • hear from students with disabilities or diverse learning needs and their parents
  • meet other teachers and brainstorm ideas
  • have specific questions answered
  • get inspired about the incredible things these students can achieve

TESTIMONIALS

Course Feedback

The course was a fantastic mix of information about teaching neuro-divergent students, demonstration of teaching techniques in action, and inspirational videos performances to show how much these students are capable of achieving.

Online January course

The observation component was EXCELLENT to see how fast paced and structured Daphne kept her lessons

Online January course

Hearing both the theoretical part and practical part as well as seeing the results of all the efforts of children, parents and professionals was great.

Online January course

I found the information about autism really helpful, especially the advice on avoiding tantrums.

Online January course

The overall structure of each session was really well set out. Explaining the disability with examples, giving insight, then hearing from Daphne about the best ways to approach it, showing the student in a lesson, then a concert. Amazing!!

Online January course

I’ve already changed how I work with one child who has ASD, ADHD and anxiety and it appears to already be a game changer!

Online January course

Apart from learning Daphne’s experience of teaching, the most useful aspect to me is that this course has been for us teachers forming community so we can share each other’s teaching story and different experiences.

September course

It has given me a greater understanding of the importance of meeting individual needs of the students and seeking their input into the whole learning process. Also, I now see that it is possible to extend the abilities of special needs students further than what I previously expected.

September course

I got such valuable insight into the way these children live and learn, along with their families. The practical elements demonstrated were always highly useful. The depth of insight into the way these children think was really valuable.

September course

I just want to again say a huge thank-you again to Daphne and Joe for opening their house and their world to us. It was also marvellous to hear from the other professionals during our PD and, most importantly, it was beautiful to interact with the students and parents. Inspiring stuff!

September course

I could see the potential for autistic students to achieve so much with the right approach.

April course

Daphne is a treasure chest of inspiring stories, resources of gold, a wealth of knowledge and mind-blowing practical examples on how these children learn.

April course

The training is delivered in a relaxed, collaborative and engaging format, all underpinned by Daphne Proietto’s quite remarkable passion for young people with autism and the power of music to foster learning and personal growth.

September course

The atmosphere is very personal, and the cuppa and lunch (always homemade!) provided an opportunity to get to know each other. The highlight for me was to be part of one of Daphne’s very special concerts that she organizes for her students.

September course

I loved the background brain info from Joe giving context, meaning and a great depth of understanding.
