This introductory course will cover how to get started when you’re teaching instrumental music to students with autism, ADHD and/or other additional learning needs.

Daphne has been teaching piano to children with disabilities and diverse learning needs for over twenty-five years. In the early days, word quickly travelled around musical circles that she was producing amazing outcomes for children with autism. Since 2017, she has been passing on her knowledge and wisdom to other music teachers through the not-for-profit foundation, Keys of Life, with the aim of giving more neurodiverse children the gift of music.

Neurodiversity in 1:1 music education – 3-day intensive training for music teachers

Join Daphne Proietto (OAM) and a range of expert guests in this 3-day course for instrumental music teachers aimed at developing and sharing knowledge and skills in working with neurodiverse students.

Whether you are an experienced professional or just starting out in your teaching career, this training will provide the opportunity to hear from researchers, parents and students firsthand about their musical learning journeys. As teachers, we are all motivated to learn how to better engage neurodiverse students and share the enormous benefits of playing a musical instrument. This FREE course offers a mix of professional learning, lesson observation and presentations from students and parents.

The face-to-face format allows for the exchange of ideas and the ability to have specific questions answered.

Teachers have the opportunity to observe Daphne teaching and listen to her students perform, as well as hearing from students and parents.
